Giorgio Parolini obtained diplomas in Piano under the direction of Luisella Minini, Organ and Organ composition with Enzo Corti and Harpsichord with Mariolina Porrà. He has attended Masterclasses in Organ with renowned teachers such as H. Vogel, P. Planyavsky, K. Schnorr, J. Van Oortmerssen, L. Ghielmi, L. Lohmann, R. Saorgin, M.C. Alain, L. Rogg, F. Delor, C. Stella. In September 1994, he was admitted to the Organ and Improvisation class of Lionel Rogg at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Geneva where, in 1996, he won the prestigious “Premier Prix de Virtuosité”. In 2001 he attended the courses for Orchestra Musicians at the Teatro alla Scala Academy in Milan. In 1992 he won the 16th Edition of the National Organ Competition in Noale (Venice), in 1997 he was the only Italian organist admitted (after an anonymous pre-selection round) at the 2nd Edition of the International “Ville de Paris” Organ Competition, in 1998 he was finalist at the 1st Edition of the National Harpsichord Competition “G. Gambi” in Pesaro and in 2000 was the only Italian organist admitted (again after a pre-selection round) to the International Organ Competition in Odense (Denmark).

Interested in the entire organ repertoire, he plays concerts on instruments of all different periods and styles. He plays regularly in Italy, Europe and the United States: he has been invited to Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, the National Cathedral and National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C., St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco, to the Cathedrals in Copenhagen, Magdeburg, Brandenburg, Limburg, Minden, Fulda, Ulm, Toledo (OH), Orléans, Bordeaux, St. Malo, Barcelona, Weingarten Basilica, the Church of the Madeleine in Paris, St. Thomas Church – New York, Fourth Presbyterian Church – Chicago, Hallgrimskirkja – Reykjavík, Odense Organ Festival (Denmark). His recitals are unanimously praised by the public, critics admire his brilliant interpretative skills, his expressiveness, and his judicious command of registration. Contemporary music is an important part of his wide repertoire: he gave the world premiere of Eugenio Maria Fagiani’s “Veni Creator Spiritus” and of Grimoaldo Macchia’s “Partita – Suite sopra Abide with me”. He has also given first performances of pieces composed by Lionel Rogg and (in Italy and Germany) Denis Bédard. He also co-operates with choirs, instrumental ensembles and instrumental soloists.

In 2006 he recorded Mozart’s Fantasia KV594 for a DVD produced by Musicom for Banca Intesa, in 2008 his recital at the Cathedral in Barcelona was recorded by Radio Catalunya, and his concert activity was the theme of “The colours of the organ”, a program broadcast by the Vatican Radio in 2004.

He teaches Organ at the Conservatorio di Musica “N. Paganini” in Genova. He also taught Organ at the Conservatorio di Musica in Cagliari, Catania, Darfo Boario Terme, Brescia and in Udine.

He has been on juries for international Organ competitions and in June 2017 was invited to teach a Masterclass at the 22nd International Organ Academy in Lövstabruk (Sweden), featuring the historical Cahman organ built in 1728. Since July 2019 he is Sub-Dean of the European Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

For the German label Motette Psallite Verlag he recorded the cd “Amazing Grace” with pieces by the organist and composer Grimoaldo Macchia; most of the repertoire is a “World Premiere Recording”.

Parolini is Organist Emeritus of the Musical Chapel of Monza Cathedral, where he served from 1995 until 1998. From 1999 to 2012 he was Titular Organist of Sant’Eufemia Basilica in Milan. Since July 2021 he is Titular Organist of the Corpus Domini Basilica in Milan.
